Tony Evans and his daughter, Chrystal, remind women of their calling from God to be free, delivered, healed, and to have hope. The insight in this book encourages women to correct distorted perceptions and understand who they really are in Christ. A kingdom woman is called and empowered to live a life of victory through Christ!

Treat Him Like a Dog: And Other Tips for Marital Bliss

What if you treated your husband like your boss? Your cab driver? Your personal trainer? Your phone? Your dog? This was a fun way to explore ways to treat your husband better in a positive way. The wisdom in these pages is genuinely worth far more than the simple investment you will make. I highly recommend it to everyone.

The Faces We Had as Children

This was a poetry book by a friend of mine. I liked it.

The Spiritual Art of Creative Silence

Hanging by a Limb

This book was a poetry book. It was short and sweet. It focused on the results of aging.

Healing the Child Within: Discovery and Recovery for Adult Children of Dysfunctional Families

Dr. Whitfield talks about the basic principles of recovery. He describes the processed trauma of the wounds that the Child Within experiences. When the child within is hurt the true self of who we were made to be can’t be manifested properly. This book shows you how to differentiate the True Self from the false self. I highly recommend this to survivors of trauma.

Heartland Coming Home

This is the first book in the series. Amy Fleming lives on Heartland Ranch, a horse ranch for injured and abused horses. After her mother dies Amy takes on the role of continuing her mother’s work. She has inherited the gift of horse whisper.

Say Cheese and Murder

This was written by my writer friend Michelle Pointis Burns. This is the first in A Lemington Cheese Company Mystery Book 1. The author is planning on completing at least three other books in the series. This was a cozy mystery. Lady Lemington head of Lemington Cheese Company is hosting a New Year's Eve party at her house. When someone is murdered, Cassandra Haywood her niece takes on the role of amateur sleuth to figure out who did it along with detectives. Everyone is a suspect. You will not believe who the culprit is. Many twists and turns encompass this story. But I can't tell too much or I could spoil it.

I am not the usual type for mystery novels outside of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Not just because of the many twists and turns but even after the culprit is caught the story continues on with more twists and turns that will keep you hooked until the very end. If you are a fan of Nancy Drew, you will find this story similar but different.

Keep Calm and Trust God

In Keep Calm and Trust God things such as anxiety, worry, fear, stress, setbacks, and failures was discussed. Prayers, short narratives, scripture, poems, and encouraging short stories go along with each topic to keep you cool and trust God.

Wallace and Gromit: Feng Shaun

This was a fun book about Shaun the Sheep. It provided encouraging words of wisdom on how to unwind and take your mind off the stresses and strains of modern living in Feng Shui. It was very cute.

Everyday Wisdom For Success

This was a book that had tips on how to have success. From personal, professional, and spiritual in your everyday life.

Indian Trail Trees

This was a book that talked about Indian Trail Trees. Indian Trail trees are going extinct because of deforestation and also the land is changing. Trial trees were trees that Indians used to mark trails to find water and other things. They did this by tying down young saplings with rope pointing in the direction of the way they wanted to go. They were permanently growing like that and when they were old enough they would cut the strings off. This book talked about the history of these trees and pictures of them and where they were found. I liked this book showing the history of an almost lost art in the world that is disappearing fast.

Shadow Mirror

This is the second book to the Walk Series. Once again Miranda and her friends must solve the mystery at the Belvedere, the plantation estate, that the town is fixing up to turn into a bed and breakfast. Excellent!!! I really enjoyed this book. It also had an Alice and Wonderland feel to it.

Walk of the Spirits

This was the first book in the Walk Series. Miranda Barnes moves to St. Yvette, Louisiana because of a hurricane that wiped out her other house Her mom has family there. She meets her grandfather who tells her she has the ability to help spirits/ghosts move on to the afterlife. She starts a group project for her history class. Her friends that she makes help her solve the mystery of the spirit that is haunting the movie theater in the town. Excellent!!! I really enjoyed this book.

Demonic Foes: My Twenty-Five Years as a Psychiatrist Investigating Possessions, Diabolic Attacks, and the Paranormal

This book was written by the world’s leading psychiatrist on demonic possession. This book covers the hidden world of exorcisms and the transformation of this author from cynic to the believer. A priest asked him to examine a woman who was possessed by a demon. This led him on a 25-year career seeking out demons. Gallagher has spent a quarter-century studying demonic activity and exorcisms throughout history and has witnessed more cases than any other psychiatrist in the world today. It was excellent and I really enjoyed it.

Vlad the Impaler: The Real Count Dracula

This was an engaging biography of one of the most notorious serial killers of all time. This was written for middle schoolers but I really enjoyed it. It went through his whole life with pictures and good descriptions. I have read other books on Vlad before but this book gave the most information in a short amount of time. It was gruesome but not graphic so this book is not for the faint of heart.

The Screwtape Letters

This book was very good. It made me think a lot which I enjoy very much. The story was about a demon who was trying to convince another demon to make sure that he tried to get a human to go to Hell with him. I enjoyed the dynamics of the narrative and how it intertwined with how the devil tries to hook you with his lies. Highly recommend it to anyone.

The Natural Superiority of the Left-Hander

This book was very good. It talked about the history of left-handedness and famous people who were left-handed as well. It also had facts about the differences between left-handers and right-handers. Since I am left-handed I found it comical and interesting.

A Sudden Glory: God's Lavish Response to Your Ache for Something More

Do you long for something more in your relationship with God? God doesn't want you to get your spiritual life “right.” He wants to be with you right where you are. Sharon Jaynes understands what it’s like to have a glory ache. Which is a longing to experience God’s presence on a daily basis.  In this book, she uses Scripture and story to help you erase the line between your spiritual life and your daily life as you enter the sanctuary of God’s presence. In the middle of our busy, messy day. This book will help you find the moments of sudden glory in which the Creator assures you of His love. This book was great!!! I personally met the author as well.

Wobbly Man

This is a poetry book. It is good. I met the author personally.

The Art of War

Twenty-Five Hundred years ago, Sun Tzu wrote this book of military strategy based on Chinese warfare and military thought. Since that time, all levels of military have used the teaching on Sun Tzu to warfare and civilization have adapted these teachings for use in politics, business, and everyday life. I found this book to be very informative. A lot of it applies to war but I found a war of the mind and the war of working with other people can be applied with these principles as well.

Working Successfully with Screwed-Up People

This book was very good. It talked about different things in the workplace and how to deal with them to be more successful.

Through the Looking Glass

This was the sequel to Alice and Wonderland. I liked it. It was very strange.

Butterflies

This book was about Katherine a girl who was burned in a really bad accident when she was two years old. She has had many reconstructive surgeries over the years. She is about to graduate from high school. This talks about her struggles with being burned and how she feels like a beast inside. She desires to be perfect by having one more reconstructive surgery. I really enjoyed this story. It really showed the inner struggles of a girl who doesn’t feel beautiful. How she wanted to be perfect and feel normal. The biggest thing I got out of this story was finding a way to love yourself and letting other people love you as well.
