The Purity Principle

This book was very good. It explained the principles of the Bible in reference to spiritual purity and the reasons behind it as well. This book talks about raising children to embrace sexual purity, protecting purity in dating, and maintaining purity in marriage. It also had tips on what we can do to experience the freedom of purity.

Light as a Feather

McKenna Brady and her elite popular friends on Halloween night play Light as a Feather Stiff as a Board with Violet the new girl in town. Violet predicts 3 of the girl's deaths. Then 1 week later Olivia Richmond dies in the exact way that she predicted. Then Violet rises to popularity and steps into the life Olivia left unfinished. McKenna becomes convinced Olivia’s death wasn’t just a coincidence. With the help of her friend Trey, they figure out what her secret before more people die.
I liked it a lot, especially with the spiritual aspect and ghosts. But I was quite disappointed with the ending.

The Blessed Life

This was a very good book about explaining what tithing is, and how to do it God's way. It was very easy to understand and had a lot of fun stories about Robert Morris' experiences with giving. He explains the principles of living the blessed life in all areas of your life. Giving is not just about money. When God changes your heart from selfish to selfless generosity every area of your life is affected. Once you understand the importance of tithing and start to give to God on a selfless level God will bless you in all things. Thoroughly enjoyed it and I am now reading the study guide that corresponds to the book.

The Gift of the Magi and Other Short Stories

This was an okay book. I liked the Gift of the Magi story. The rest of them were okay but I didn't like them as well. There was a story about a dying girl, a writer sobs over a menu, and a detective tracks a thief to an unexpected hideout to name a few. O'Henry 's writing style was interesting. I liked his use of eloquence and vocabulary in certain parts.

Food, Fitness, and Faith for Women: A 21 Day Journey to a New You

This was a book about how to honor God through losing weight. It was good.

God Has Never Failed Me: But He's Sure Scared Me to Death a Few Times

This was a good book about how to have God lessen the burden of anxiety and how to stay faithful to trust Him to help you through stuff. Some of it I didn't like and I thought it was too long. Some stuff I knew already with the help of my support groups but I did learn some things.

Psychic Children: Revealing the Intuitive Gifts and Hidden Abilities of Boys and Girls

This book was read for the purpose of research for my book. This book discussed the different psychic children and the gifts and abilities they have. It was very interesting a lot of it wasn't relevant to what I wanted so a lot of it I skipped but I did get some stuff out of it. She talked about how to talk to your children if they show psychic gifts. She wanted you to treat them kindly and are good, not evil. Sylvia also talked about her own personal experience. After her own psychic abilities were revealed at age three, her mother tolerated but never encouraged her startling talent. Browne’s own son would exhibit psychic abilities of his own as a toddler, which she fully embraced and supported. What Browne has learned over a lifetime is that psychic gifts are present at incredibly tender ages; they are, in her view, special blessings from God. Some children learn to develop them while others are pressed to ignore them. She illuminates the phenomenon, issuing a call to society for more understanding and acceptance of these remarkable children.

The Truth About Psychics What's Real What's Not and How to Tell the Difference

This book was very good! The first part talked about the history of spiritualism, religions views on spiritualism, and the types of healers. The second part talked about the tools of the trade of divination (ex. palm reading), divination devices (ex. ouija boards), important people in divination, the residents of the spirit world, and past lives. The third part talked about how the frauds do it and how to develop your spiritual gifts.
I read this book for the purpose of research for my magic book. But I really enjoyed it and learned a lot about other things.

The Maze Runner

Thomas arrives at the Glade with no memory of his life before he arrived. He is greeted by 60 other boys who also have no memories either. The Glade is enclosed by a maze. The runners run in the maze every day trying to find a way out. They have been looking for two years. But the maze changes every night after the walls close. The boys also face the grievers a terrifying monster that poisons them if they get stung. The next day after Thomas arrives a girl arrives. She says that everything will change and it does. She was the trigger that initiated the end for the maze. Thomas becomes a runner to find the way out and he does but not before the grievers come and take some of them when the maze doors don't close. After fighting some grievers to get to the exit they escape from the maze. Then they learn that the maze was just a test for something bigger. Remember, survive and run.
I loved this book!!! This is the first book in the Maze Runner Trilogy. It was so weird but I had to find out what was gonna happen next and the reason for the maze.

Nancy Drew's Guide to Life

This was a short little book about tips from Nancy Drew books the originals. It was cute. Then it told you what book it came from.

Saving Simon

This book was about a guy rescuing a donkey that was abused and the compassion he developed because of the donkey. I learned a lot about donkeys and their behavior. It was really sad in the beginning but toward the end, it just got boring because he talked to long.

Eat This Not That Supermarket Survival Guide

This book was very good. It gave you facts from each section of the supermarket and explained why it's healthy and why it's not. I learned a lot. Then, in the end, it had healthier recipes. Highly recommend to everyone.

Out of Body Experiences How to Have Them and what to Expect

I read this book for my book research. It was very interesting. It was cool to see how he experienced OBE's and then he gave some facts about it. It talked about how to induce them too but that is not the purpose for why I read it.

The Last Coon Hunter

This book was written by Joe Crance who I know personally because he is in my writer's group. If I didn't know him personally I probably would not have read this book. But it was very good. It was about coon hunting but it was also about the Ernst family and their relationships. Jacob Ernest has 2 sons Nathan and Mead. They have grown up living on a farm learning about coon hunting. They also learn about the legends of Painted Post NY. Jacob instilled great values in his sons. Their mom died when they were really young. But their lives are turned upside down when the drug trade comes to town to seek revenge on the Ernst family.
I will not reveal much more than that because it's a very exciting book and I don't want to ruin it for anyone. I really loved how the author gave life his animal characters human characteristics. He writes very eloquently and I think anyone who reads this book will fall in love with the story just like I did.

Daily Devotions Inspired By 90 Minutes in Heaven

This was an ok book. Some of it was good some of it wasn't. I mostly liked the prayers at the end.

The Weiser Field Guide to Witches

This book talked about the types of witches, famous witches, tools of witchcraft, witches from movies, TV, comics, and literature, witches animals, hunting witches, places to visit related to witches, and how to identify a witch. It was very interesting and enjoyed learning about new things like witches animals.

The Other Typist

This book was set in the 1920's so I enjoyed it a lot because that is my favorite time period in history. It reminded me a lot of The Great Gatsby. The author said in the acknowledgments that The Great Gatsby is her favorite book. Rose is a typist for the NYC police department. She is captivated by Odalie a new typist who joins gets a job at a typist too. Rose has been very sheltered in her life because she was an orphan and grew up with nuns. She is taken by Odalie because she is everything she is not social, flamboyant, has connections, knows things etc....They start a whirlwind friendship. she moves in with her and she opens her eyes to the secret life of NYC during the 1920's. Parties after parties. Odalie shows her how to dress up and wear makeup. The ending is very unexpected but I don't want to ruin it. But I loved it!!!

This book took verses and had illustrations drawn to see it in a beautiful way to inspire you. Then it would talk about the passage from the Bible. Very good.

New Christian's Handbook: Everything New Believers Need to Know

This book was excellent. It really showed you all the aspects of Christianity and how to apply it to your life in an easy to understand manner. The first section talked about what we believe. The second session talked about why we believe it. The third session talked about how we should live. It was a great refresher to the basic principles and understand things I never really understood. I recommend this book to all who believe and want to dig deeper.

Knowing the Bible 101 A Guide to God's Word in Plain Language

This book was fantastic!!! I think I know more about the Bible now than I ever had. This book took you through the whole Bible and explained what it was about. Each chapter had a nice summary, ways to dig deeper, and reflection questions. It had Bible reading plans. Very excellent read for anyone who doesn't understand or how to know to navigate the Bible.

Portrait Without a Mouth

This was a book of poetry. Not much to say but it was very good.

The Definitive Book of Body Language

This was a very good book describing how to read and describe body language. I read this book because with my disability it's hard for me to read body language. It was awesome! I learned a lot. It had picture examples too. It talked about everything; what your handshakes mean, how to read smiles and laughter, arm signals, eye signals, hand and leg gestures, body signals, smoker signals, 13 most common gestures, how to tell if someone is lying, personal space and territories, mirroring signals, courtship displays, ownership and height signals, seating arrangements, interviewing, and cultural differences.
